Reality TV star and SkinnyGirl Cocktails mogul Bethenny Frankel finds it “despicable” how people have treated her since she became a multi-millionaire.
“The most difficult thing in my journey is the way that people have reacted to my making money,” Frankel tells Moira Forbes of Forbes Woman in a new video. “Money brings out a really vicious side in other people. it surprises me because you always think about people making money and it changing them, you never think about it changing everyone else.”

In fact Frankel says that appearing on “The Real Housewives of new York” didn’t change her life as much as reports last year, now refuted, that she made $120 million selling her brand.

“Fame isn’t the thing that changed the people around me, but money is,” says Frankel. “People look at you differently. People make up stories about you. It’s not like I sat at home and shook a money tree.”
Frankel’s other biggest complaint: the press spreading rumors about her as if they are fact.
“I used to defend myself or say, ‘Oh my god, let me clarify this,’” says Frankel. “Now it’s become like roaches. you can’t kill every one.”
Frankel, who currently stars with husband Jason Hoppy and daughter Bryn Hoppy in the Bravo series “Bethenny ever after,” revealed in February that she had suffered a miscarriage. Still, now tells Forbes that life is mostly good.
“Generally I am happy,” she says in the video. “With a side of unhappy.”
